Zodia is a broad-spectrum fungicide manufactured by JU Agri Sciences. It contains a combination of two fungicides that work through different modes of action, making it effective against a wide range of fungal diseases.
Technical composition
- Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% SC (Suspension Concentrate)
Mode of action
- Azoxystrobin (Strobilurin group) inhibits fungal respiration, preventing spore germination and fungal growth.
- Tebuconazole (Triazole group) inhibits ergosterol synthesis, stopping fungal cell membrane development.
The combination provides:
- Preventive action
- Curative action
- Systemic movement inside the plant
- Good resistance management due to dual chemistry.
Recommended crops and diseases
| Crop | Disease | Recommended dose |
|---|---|---|
| Potato | Early blight, Late blight | 300 ml/acre |
| Wheat | Yellow rust | 300 ml/acre |
| Rice | Sheath blight | 300 ml/acre |
| Onion | Purple blotch | 300 ml/acre |
| Tomato | Early blight | 300 ml/acre |
| Chilli | Fruit rot, Powdery mildew, Dieback | 240 ml/acre |
General spray recommendation
- Around 1.5–2.5 ml per litre of water depending on the crop and disease.
- Apply as a foliar spray, ensuring good coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces.
Benefits
- Controls a broad range of fungal diseases.
- Works both before and after infection.
- Helps maintain greener foliage.
- Can improve crop quality and yield by reducing disease pressure.
- Dual mode of action lowers the risk of resistance development.
Precautions
- Follow the crop-specific label dose.
- Avoid spraying during strong winds or before heavy rainfall.
- Rotate with fungicides having different modes of action rather than using it repeatedly throughout the season.
- Wear gloves, long sleeves, and eye protection while mixing and spraying
